Rising Star Jay Sean turns 29


Kamaljit Singh Jhooti, now known as Jay Sean turned 29 few days back. He spent his birthday at a club in Las Vegas, and he allowed tickets to be available for his fans. Over the years, Jay Sean has been known as a UK R&B Singer, but now he is one of Hollywood’s most known artists.

Jay Sean’s music career started at a young age, by 11 years old he was in a hip-hop group with his cousin Pritpal Ruprai. Music was apart of Sean’s life, he enjoyed singing, and composing music. But when it came to what career he’d actually pursue, he chose to become a Doctor.

He had landed a place in Barts & the London, Queen Mary’s school of Medicine & Dentistry school to train as a doctor. After two years, Jay dropped out and found himself a million pound record deal. From then on, Jay Sean has been pursuing his music career. He worked with singers such as Rishi Rich and Juggy D. “Dance with You”, a song sung by the three became a top hit. Which lead Jay to being signed with Virgin Records. After having two major hits as a solo artist, Jay made his first album named “Me Against Myself”.

In 2006, Sean left Virgin Records and found his own independent label, called Jayded Records. After a long break, Jay returned with a new single named “Ride It” which became another  hit in the UK and several Eastern European countries. Jay continued to make more singles such as “Maybe” and “Tonight, which were included in his second album “My Own Way”.

Towards the end of 2008, Jay Sean had been signed onto Cash Money Records.  A top notch Hollywood Record Industry. In 2009, Jay had made his american debut with his song “Down” featuring a popular Hollywood artist Lil Wayne. “Down” made Jay quite popular in the United States and Canada. World wide he had sold six million copies, and three million in the US itself, and it made the billboard top 100. Which made Jay to be known as the first Asian R&B singer to be successful in the Hollywood entertainment industry. Weeks after “Down” was released, Jay surprised everyone by bringing out another single called “Do You Remember”. Do you Remember also made the billboard top 100, but it made the top ten list this time. The two singles were featured in Jay Sean’s third album “All or Nothing” which debuted #37 on the US billboard 200.
