Scraping 10th board exams:A boon or bane for students!!

The most interesting news of the day arrived when HRD minister announced to scrap off the 10th board exams and this decision was welcomed by various state governments and is assured to be implemented within 100 days.

Now where one theory states that, “it will ease out tension among students” and prove to be blessing for approximately 1.2 crore students which due to fierce competition, high expectations of parents and tremendous peer pressure amongst them suffer great stress levels which has made fatal depression and chronic pain among students a very common site amongst them.

So much so we hear large number of suicidal cases every year around the time when results are phased out.

These changes to the education system might help, but there is also another theory which states that implementing grade system might worsen the situation as 10th grade is very important phase of every student life and 10th board exams are pivotal in assessing a child’s performance and taking a decision which streams to opt for and in a way determining their future and same grades over a wide range of marks might be quite misleading and a wrong decision at this point may prove to be harmful!!

Whatever it may be the need of the hour is that good educators from all over the nation must come over and ponder over the situation as in a way this decision might decide the future of this nation !!
